USA v. James F. Hitselberger: Selected Case Files
James F. Hitselberger, a Navy contract linguist, was charged under 18 USC 793(e) with unauthorized retention of national defense information while serving in Bahrain. In April 2014, the charge was modified to a single count of unauthorized retention and removal of classified documents under 18 USC 1924, to which the defendant pled guilty. On July 17, 2014, he was sentenced to time already served, and a fine of $250.00.
