- The Pentagon Revealed Its Nuclear War Strategy and It's Terrifying by Matthew Gault, VICE, June 21. "The Pentagon published the 'Doctrine for Joint Nuclear Operations' on the Joint Chiefs of Staff's website last week, then pulled the document. The 60 page paper is a look at how the Pentagon views nuclear weapons, the circumstances under which it might use them, and how it might fight after a nuclear detonation."
- Oops: The Pentagon Just Revealed Its Nuclear Doctrine by David Axe, The National Interest, June 20. "The U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff in mid-June 2019 briefly published the Pentagon's official doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons. The joint chiefs quickly pulled the document -- Joint Publication 3-72, Nuclear Operations -- from the public website."

- U.S. Reverses Nuclear Stockpile Transparency , Arms Control Today, June. "The Trump administration refused in April to release information describing the size of the U.S. nuclear arsenal and the number of weapons dismantled as of the end of fiscal year 2018. The decision reversed a practice established by the Obama administration in 2010."
