Over the past few days, a number of news organizations have asked for advance warning of any action we may be taking against targets in Belgrade, citing concern about people in the city.
We cannot and will not give advance notification of military targeting. You should be aware, however, that there is substantial risk involved in having people in Belgrade during a period that could be highly dangerous. As the President and others have stated, we will do our best to minimize civilian casualties; however, the safety of any particular group of people, including journalists, cannot be guaranteed.
