On the U.S.S. Liberty
- A. Jay Cristol v. National Security Agency, complaint filed January 21, 2003, seeking declassification of "tapes, recordings, or other electronic or paper recordings of surveillance of common voice radio transmissions made or intercepted on June 8, 1967 by the U.S.S. Liberty." With an Answer from NSA, dated July 3, 2003.
Schwarz v. FBI, et al
- Memorandum Opinion Dismissing Case as Frivolous, Judge John D. Bates, September 24, 2002. The FOIA's "admirable purpose is abused when misguided individuals are allowed to submit requests to every agency and subdivision of the government, seeking information about an imaginary conspiracy."
Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers International Union v. DOE
- Memorandum Opinion on Attorneys Fees, Judge Gladys Kessler, DC District Court, March 16, 2001. This ruling summarizes an exemplary FOIA lawsuit that produced "enormous public benefit."

- Amicus Brief Supporting Respondent in U.S. v. Weatherhead, November 19, 1999. A legal brief submitted to the Supreme Court in defense of judicial review in Exemption 1 FOIA cases.
- United States v. Weatherhead, U.S. Solicitor General Petition for Certiorari, May 1999. After the 9th circuit ordered release of a classified British Government document that the State Department wanted to withhold, the Justice Department asked the Supreme Court to reverse the decision.
