|Through research, advocacy, and public education,
the FAS Project on Government Secrecy
works to challenge excessive government secrecy
and to promote public oversight.
Secrecy News was written by Steven Aftergood and published by the FAS Project on Government Secrecy from 2000 to 2021.
It provided original reporting on new developments in national security secrecy and related topics (intelligence policy, state secrets, unauthorized disclosures, invention secrecy, polygraph testing, security clearances, etc.), as well as access to official documentary sources.
The plain text version of the newsletter is given below. The more fully annotated blog version can be found on the Internet Archive, or by searching online for the titles of individual Secrecy News posts.
